Bespoke jacket by Sartoria Fabio Sodano, Napoli.

– Hello everyone, today I want to show several photos of my Sartoria Fabio Sodano bespoke jacket, in all its phases, from the cut to the final round.

The fabric chosen was a 140’s of Vitale Barberis Canonico deep green with edged celestial and orange square.

From the beginning I preferred half lining, 3 buttons, stretch 2 and with patch pockets; I was undecided on the chest pocket, but thanks to the Fabio’s advice, I chose to pocket patch. The jacket has a regular lapels of about 9cm, all contours are double hand stitched performed meticulously, by Pasquale.

The split rear of 17 cm each and also finished with hand stitching, on the pulse there is only 1 button hole, almost, all the jackets commissioned at Sartoria Fabio Sodano. The shoulder has no Rollino and is slightly “wrinkled” as the Neapolitan tradition.

Inside the jacket we are: 1 hammer pince a to facilitate the rotation of the front and also there are four pockets, two upper and two lower too, harmoniously, hand stitched.

Being a plaid jacket, the cut is (even more) the key point for an excellent achievement, as we can see from the pictures this is done by hand (as well as the signature of the fabric, made WITHOUT PATTERNS). The square, as they say in Naples are “apparati”/ “sorted” to perfection and this we see lining the arm (and therefore the sleeve) to the front, thus creating a continuity of lines.

The fit is perfect, the jacket is comfortable and takes me in my every movement of the body, while having a pretty tight armholes (characteristic of the Fabio’s jackets ).

– Ciao a tutti, oggi voglio mostravi varie fotografie che ritraggono la mia giacca, della Sartoria Fabio Sodano, in tutte le sue fasi di lavorazione, dal taglia alla prova finale.

Il tessuto scelto è stato un 140’s di Vitale Barberis Canonico a fondo verde e con quadri dai contorni celesti e arancioni. Fn dall’inizio l’ho preferita con mezza fodera, 3 bottoni, stirata a 2 e con tasche a toppa; ero indeciso sul taschino al petto ma grazie anche ai consigli di Fabio, l’ho scelto a toppa.

La giacca presenta un rever regolare di circa 9cm, tutti i contorni della giacca presentano una doppia impuntura eseguite, minuziosamente, da Pasquale. Gli spacchi posteriori sono di 17 cm l’uno e anch’essi rifiniti con impunture a mano, sul polso troviamo 1 sola asola come, quasi, tutte le giacche commissionate presso la Sartoria Fabio Sodano. La spalla è priva di rollino ed è leggermente “arricciata” così come vuole la tradizione Napoletana.

All’interno della giacca troviamo: 1 pince a martello per favorire la rotazione dei davanti, senza spiombare e inoltre vi sono anche 4 taschini, 2 superiori e 2 inferiori anche loro, armoniosamente, impunturati a mano.

Essendo una giacca a quadri, il taglio è (ancor di più) il punto fondamentale per un’ottima realizzazione, da come possiamo vedere nelle foto è eseguito a mano (così come la segnatura del tessuto, effettuata, SENZA CARTAMODELLI). I quadri, come si dice a Napoli sono “apparati” alla perfezione e questo lo possiamo notare allineando il braccio (e quindi la manica) ai davanti, creando così una continuità delle linee.

Il fit è perfetto, la giacca è comoda e mi accompagna in ogni mio movimento del corpo, pur avendo un giromanica piuttosto stretto (caratteristica della giacca di Fabio).
