Sartoria Fabio Sodano, Napoli.

–Hello guys, today I want to talk about a young Neopolitan tailor. Although only 29 year-old he has great experience and a superb career behind him. His name is Fabio Sodano and at 14 years old he had his first experiences in a small tailoring workshop in his village on the slopes of Vesuvius, starting to process the media points, felled seams and the quarters of the jackets.

At 18 years old he decided to go to Kiton school of haute couture, to learn the basics of the craft. He spent 2½ years, alternating between school and the workshop.

He stayed in Kiton for another 10 months and then went at Attolini; then for Isaia for 4 years, becoming the head of the bespoke sector for the store in Milan, allowing them to better refine the techniques of haute couture. Finally, before opening his own workshop in his native town: St. Anastasia, he spent about a year at Sartoria Partenopea.

After all his experience and maturing he used his passion for tailoring and decided to open his shop in 2012 which today is composed and run by himself, a childhood friend (Pasquale) and 3 employees.

The Fabio’s jacket is the typical “Neapolitan jacket”, very light, but with a “saddled” shoulder, but sometimes also “a Camicia” (with a little foam); never fail: double stitching by hand (task Pasquale), large lapels, boat-shaped breast pocket and only one button on the wrist (for sport blazers).

The unique thing is that Fabio is one of the few Neapolitans tailors that produces trousers, which can be smooth or with 1/2 pleats, pockets in seam, 3.5cm strap top and stitching, buttons and buttonholes sewn by hand.

– Ciao amici, oggi voglio parlarvi, di un giovane sarto, 29enne, napoletano, ma con una gran esperienza e carriera alle sue spalle; Fabio Sodano.

Da 14enne inizia a fare le prime esperienze sartoriali in una bottega nel suo paesino alle pendici del Vesuvio, iniziando ad elaborare i mezzi punti, le ribattiture e man mano i quarti delle giacche. 18enne decise di rivolgersi alla scuola di alta sartoria Kiton, per affinare le basi e per imparare le nozioni essenziali del mestiere; qui passerà 2 anni e mezzo, alternando la scuola al lavoro in bottega. Resta in Kiton per altri 10 mesi per poi virare presso Attolini; successivamente da Isaia per ben 4 anni, diventando il responsabile del su-misura per il negozio sito in Milano, potendo così affinare al meglio le tecniche dell’alta sartoria. Infine, prima di aprire la sua bottega nella sua città Natale: Sant’Anastasia, trascorre circa un anno presso Sartoria Partenopea.

Dopo tutta questa gavetta e dopo aver matura questa grande cultura e passione per la sartoria, Fabio nel 2012 decise di aprirsi la sua bottega che ad oggi è composta e gestita da: lui, un amico di infanzia (Pasquale) e 3 collaboratori.

La giacca di Fabio è la tipica napoletana, molto leggera, ma con una spalla “Insellata”, ma talvolta anche a camicia (con poca gomma piuma); non mancano mai: le doppie impunture a mano (compito di Pasquale), reverse ampi, taschini a barchetta e 1 solo bottone sul polso (per le giacche sportive).

La cosa esclusiva è che: Fabio è uno dei pochi sarti Napoletani che produce internamente i pantaloni, che posso essere lisci o con 1/2 pinces, tasche in cucitura, cinturino alto 3.5 cm, impunture, bottoni e asole cuciti completamente a mano.
